My approach may be quite different to what you’ve been used to. How I work is much more suited to those of you who value the nature of a process and do not expect a ‘quick fix’. We work together to thoroughly investigate and address your pain and movement concerns - this journey is usually always enjoyable and enlightening for both of us!
I view the human body in a unique way - one that truly considers the whole body - influenced greatly by teachings from Gary Ward’s Anatomy In Motion and Upledger’s CranioSacral Therapy. I often notice things about the way people move that have been overlooked and unconsidered in the past - addressing the small details can be key to getting you feeling better again.
During our sessions, I will assess your standing resting posture, in detail, from head to toe. I’ll also check the quality your body’s smaller movements that make up the bigger movements. I may also assess the finer details in your body such as restrictions within your CranioSacral system (see FAQs on CranioSacral Therapy for more info).
I’ll also observe your gait (walking) through the lens of Gary Ward’s Flow Motion Model™. Gait is a universal repetitive human movement that involves every single joint in your body, in all three dimensions of movement. Hence, it serves as a powerful assessment tool which can help us unearth the root of your problem.
Something to bear in mind - Where your pain is, isn’t necessarily where the problem is. For example, you may be surprised to discover that your shoulder problem could be stemming from a lack of movement in your foot!
Finally, my mission is to offer you a fresh perspective, hope and a solution to your pain and movement problem. I aim to empower you and help restore your faith in your own body’s innate ability to heal itself, regardless of how long you’ve been in pain.
