Ask Better Questions
❔ Ask yourself better questions..
Your brain has a sophisticated filter system known as the Reticular Activating System (RAS) - a network of neurons in your brainstem.
It allows certain information to your brain & filters out other information. It is not feasible for your brain to interpret & decipher the millions of pieces of information gathered by your senses... every SECOND! Thankfully, your brain is primarily a deletion device 🙏
You could liken the RAS to social media algorithms. It will show you more of what you express interest in. Similarly, it'll hide the things you don't engage with.
Asking yourself questions activates & guides the RAS. Questions prime your brain to seek out the answers. In other words, answers will come to you 💡
So catch yourself if you're asking yourself disempowering questions... why am I so rubbish at..., why can't I just...., why am I not.... If you do, your brain will seek out evidence to confirm these hugely limiting beliefs.
Ask better questions to direct your focus to whatever answers you seek.
The answers we are looking for are often already there, but we're not asking the right questions to shine a light on them 🔦
One of the better questions I was asking myself several years ago was along the lines of... "What is a better way of viewing, assessing & treating the human body [from a musculoskeletal perspective]?"
Out of nowhere, the answer to my question revealed itself through the ingenious book What The Foot? by Gary Ward 🥳🙌
