PILATES
Pilates is a low impact mind-body workout consisting of conditioning exercises that strengthen your whole body with control, with particular emphasis on moving from the core. Similar to yoga, it also works on flexibility and balance. The mindful nature of Pilates promotes good body awareness and postural alignment which leaves you feeling refreshed and energised.
I teach modified Pilates exercises pioneered by the APPI - Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute - which are adapted from the original Joseph Pilates series. This adapted form of traditional Pilates exercise is suitable and beneficial for almost everyone, including those of you who wish to improve your general well being, enhance sports performance or optimise your recovery from injury.
We will utilise a range of small equipment such as the Pilates circle, small ball and resistance bands to modify the exercises – these are great if you like a challenge!
